Michael Grossman, MD
Chief Hospice Medical Director
Dr. Michael Grossman began his involvement with Hospice Philosophical care in 1981 and has been the Chief Medical Director of U.P. Hospice since 1993. He brings a unique dedication & passion to our Hospice team. He is board certified in Family Medicine and also in Hospice & Palliative Medicine, as well as regularly attends palliative care courses and conferences. Dr. Grossman practices medicine at the Twin Cities Medical Clinic in Negaunee.
Catherine Kroll, DO
Associate Hospice Medical Director
Dr. Catherine Kroll is the newest addition to our Hospice Team, although not new to Hospice Philosophical care, having been involved with Hospice care since the early 1980s. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge including board certifications in Family Medicine and in Geriatrics. She is also currently pursuing board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Dr. Kroll practices medicine at the Gwinn/Sawyer Medical Centers.
Aaron Scholnik, MD
Dr. Aaron Scholnik began his association with Hospice and Cindy Nyquist in the 1970s and brings a dynamic insight to our Hospice Team with his expertise in the field of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Medical Oncology and Hematology. Dr. Scholnik is also a consultant to U.P. Hematology / Oncology Associates.
Wayne Carlson, MD
Home Health Medical Director
Dr. Wayne Carlson has been the Medical Director of the U.P. Home Health Program since 2002 and is a valued member of our team. Dr. Carlson is active with the organization’s Professional Advisory Committee and is readily available to clinical staff for consultation needs. He is board certified in Family Medicine and practices at the Twin Cities Medical Clinic in Negaunee.
