What is the cost for services?
Services are often covered in full with no out-of-pocket expense to you or your family. Most insurance plans work with Home Health, including Medicare and Medicaid. If you're covered by more than one policy, the insurance companies will work together to coordinate your benefits.
What are the education and training requirements for nurses?
Registered nurses complete at least an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or a 4-year bachelor of science degree (BSN). After becoming an RN, some go on for advanced practice degrees, such as Nurse Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Licensed Practical Nurses complete a 12-18 month training program, usually offered in a vocational or adult education program, private nursing school, or community college setting. In Michigan, RNs and LPNs are licensed through the Bureau of Health Professions. First, they must pass the National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX. They undergo background checks and must take continuing education courses annually to maintain their license. Hospice certification indicates a mastery in the practices and concepts of Hospice Philosophical Care. Our nurses choose to validate their expertise through Hospice certification.
